miteru (the "App") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains how the App handles information.
The App uses Apple's Screen Time capability (Family Controls) to show a screen when you try to open an app you have chosen. The following information is used only on this iPhone and is never sent to any external server.
- The apps you chose to guard (anonymous identifiers issued by Apple)
- Screen Time information such as app usage time and usage history
- Detailed records such as when an intervention was shown and when you tapped "Not now" or "Just 10 min"
- Your in-app settings
To provide the friend group feature, the following information is stored in Google Firebase. It does not include which apps you tried to open, when you opened them, or how long you used them.
- An anonymous account ID (there is no sign-in screen; it is created automatically)
- Your display name (entered by you)
- Your daily "Stopped" and "Watched 10 min" counts
- The groups you have joined and the reactions you have sent
- Your miteru Plus purchase status (verified from purchase information signed by Apple)
In addition, if the App crashes, the following information is sent to Firebase Crashlytics to investigate the problem. It does not include Screen Time information or which apps you chose.
- The state of the program at the time of the crash, device model, iOS version, App version, and a per-device identifier issued by Crashlytics
Members of the same group can see only your display name, your daily "stopped X of Y times" count and rate, and reactions. Which apps, what time, and usage time are never shown.
- To show the intervention screen and to record and display your counts
- To provide the friend group feature
- To provide miteru Plus
- To prevent abuse (verifying the genuine App with Apple's App Attest)
- To investigate and fix App bugs (crash information)
- Google Firebase (Google LLC): anonymous authentication, database, server processing, and crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics)
- StoreKit and App Attest (Apple Inc.): subscription payments and verification of the genuine App
Except where required by law, we never provide or sell this information to third parties. We do not show ads or track you.
From "Delete data" in Settings, you can delete your display name, daily counts, group memberships, reactions, purchase status and anonymous account stored on our servers. Data on your device is removed when you delete the App.
Information stored on our servers is kept until you perform the deletion above, and is promptly erased after you do. Daily counts, including those older than needed for group display, are erased by the deletion.
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may change this policy as needed. If there are important changes, we will let you know in the App.
